Vineyard: There is a continental climate in the area with hot summers and cold winters.The area is little susceptible to the north winds and the winds of the Atlantic because it is protected by the Serra Mesão. The soil consists mainly of granite and slate.
Vinficiation: After a selective and manual harvest, the grapes are pressed and completely purified. Then they have to mature for 24 hours. Then the fermentation takes place at 30 °C, causing the reaction of the enzymes in the grapes, which release the color and flavor components, is strengthened. Culture yeasts are used to improve alcoholic fermentation. That takes place between 22 °C and 24 °C and lasts for at least 10 days. The malolactic fermentation is provoked by temperature control.
Tasting notes: Harmonious wine with an intense color of red fruits. Intense, finely balanced, strong aftertaste, good evolution on the bottle, elegant, well integrated wood flavor, tobacco, ripe fruit.
